so my friends. we had an Easter egg hunt at the farm today. It always takes a bit of prep work on our side...well, I mean their side! Meaning M,D,and J. I did my fair share...which means that I scattered a few eggs and tested the sugar cookies. Things of utmost importance of course! Well, lucky for you...I documented this day with pictures and will therefore-share it with you. Here goes...first of all...I woke up with Al-gal tucked in my bed which makes me oh,so happy! Even if she jumps in the pond and rolls in the grass all day-she is still welcome to sleep ON TOP of my covers with me-and it's definitely a highlight of a visit home!
then,I went downstairs. Correct, I fell walking down the stairs-which ALWAYS happens at home. So m and d rushed over to check and make sure I wasn't paralyzed...once this was cleared-M went about making her famous sugar cookies...
then, Dad went to go cut on the tractor...this makes me extremely nervous because of an incident that happened many moons ago. Anyways-he was cutting along the street...note how close to the oncoming car...
so what did I do-to relieve my stress? While M was outside setting up bunnies along the pathway(and yes,she put radishes beside them)
I stayed in...and snuck a bite of dough...
then M and D had to have a little meeting about who knows what?
and then mom went all
'lady dogwood' on us and gathered some for...well,I don't quite know what for...
meanwhile,I called J to come over and help(or go get worms for fishing because my mom assigned that to me-and I wanted to default it to him). He gave me some sob story about getting off of work late and said he would only get these worms if M would make breakfast for him. Well, she stated that she was too busy-so I volunteered-being the nice nice sis that I am. So here is his bacon frying right up...
meanwhile...al-gal was not happy that the bacon was not for her...
and the sugar cookies were cooling...
grandmom was reading the paper...
then J came over and SHOCKER-mom couldn't resist making him some eggs to go with the biscuits and bacon I had made...meanwhile...he was complaining about having to go through tons of milk to find HIS special milk...DIVA!!!!!
and then he sat down to feast...
al-gal and I went to go walk at Shelby Farms...
and spotted the buffalo...always an Ali pleaser!!
I thought(dumbly) I could get ali to pose for a picture with me...dogs apparently don't do such...
when we pulled back up...Mom was still outside scattering bunnies(how many bunnies do we have anyways??)
and when I went in...the sugar cookies were ready...and tasted delicious!!
I made grilled cheese sandwiches for us(not pictured), binged on my Mar's Eclair mom had made(not pictured),binged on some Easter chocolate(not pictured), took a shower(definitely NOT pictured), and then walked downstairs to see the kids starting to congregate...
the rest...as they say...is history(history that was not documented by my camera...you see, when I have people to talk to-I don't have to take pictures of stuff like bacon frying and cookies cooling!
a great time was had by all...eggs were hidden and then found. fish were fished for-but remained un-caught(lucky suckers),kids ate too much chocolate,I ate too much chocolate,I got to see best friends, and best of all...J pushed kiddos on the swing. what a guy!
Happy Easter!!
ps,I might post more pics as I can pirate them!
