yes my friends,it has been a glorious three years since United gave me the boot. I really don't know what to say except 'thanks' to the Friendly Skies. I cannot even imagine what my life would be if I were a flight attendant. I'm so happy here. It's kind of ironic to me that I took my certification exam for teaching today. What a difference 3 years can make.
Everytime I hear shades of gray...I think of that particular situation!
On the REK note,M and D are at the concert tonite and so far I have received calls during "wild wind" and "corpus christi bay"
update: just got a 'gringo honeymoon' call. I was just telling D before they left that that was one of my favorites!
Oh,how it cracks me up that they are there and calling ME during my favorite songs. I'm still waiting on the 'feelin' good again' call-but there were a couple of songs early on in the night that I couldn't hear-so I may have missed it. Either way, it does feel so good feelin good again.
And I always felt it fortuitous that the night I got home from prison(aka UNITED training) REK was playing the New Daisy. J took me and we had such a blast. I remember knowing at that moment when I heard(he opened with) FGA that everything would work out.
I distinctly remember SPRINTING to the front of the crowd during that song without a care in the world. Man, that was a good feeling!
I didn't know then(like I know now) that I could stay after and talk to him. So there is no picture from that night-but the memory is crystal clear. Thank you J!!
This particular picture was taken the first night I ever got to meet Robert Earl. I went with my Bubs to an outdoor 'on the bay' concert(My 2nd REK adventure) in San Diego and it was WONDERFUL! We stood in line afterwards and I was so star struck when talking to him that I forgot to introduce my bubs to him(i think Bubs was pretty star struck himself!!) Anyways, it was love at first meet(a darn cute 'meet cute' if you ask me) and he told me(Robert Earl, not Bubs) that my voice reminded him of Cybill Shephard. Anyways,we didn't have a camera with us(what were we thinking???) but managed to snag this with my phone!Oh,I just smile remembering it all.
And the In n Out Burger and shake aren't a shabby memory either...
feels so good
